Roof lining material is bonded to a suspended moulded roof lining board. After 5 to 10 years or so most linings start to sag and eventually the lining separates from the backing. It has been known for some to drop sooner. This can be repaired by the removal of the material and prepared for a replacement lining, then new material is moulded to the shape using an adhesive, then cut out to size and fitted back...
This takes between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the vehicle and any extras like sun roofs...etc
